10 movies and TV shows to spend your autumn evenings with

Ladies,

In autumn we count our blessings, our realizations, our fulfilled desires and lessons learned. In autumn we light candles in our homes and in our souls, we warm water for tea, we read under a blanket and turn more deeply to ourselves.

In autumn we enjoy the fruits of the earth, seasonal vegetables and fruits, we go to the market and walk among dry leaves.

This year, we celebrate the autumn equinox today, September 23, 2022. Today, day is equal to night everywhere on Earth! So we take advantage of this miracle of nature and offer you a gift: a list of the best films and documentaries about physical health and emotional well-being, sex education and personal development for you to enjoy this autumn. You can find them all on Netflix!

The Call To Courage (2019)

Our first option goes to an extraordinary woman, whom we admit we had read beforehand. Brené Brown speaks so simply and clearly about the courage to be vulnerable in her lectures, with inspiration and humor. Brené urges us to let go of fear and act with courage. Only then will we be able to move from passive observers to active creators of our lives! Courage, Ladies!

From Stress To Happiness (2020)

The documentary presents a director's spiritual journey to happiness. He is accompanied by two monks who help and guide him. One of these monks is known, in fact, as the happiest man in the world. With a calm and gentle tone, with messages and landscapes that convey so much peace, we found it mandatory for any moment when you want to take care of your personal well-being.

The Goop Lab (2020)

Gwyneth Paltrow is another incredible woman who inspires and motivates us! The Goop Lab follows Paltrow and Goop employees as they participate in a series of experimental practices related to health and spirituality, breathing exercises, experiences with psychedelics, diving into icy waters. Guided by experts, from biologists to parapsychologists, we admit we really liked their courage to experiment and step out of their comfort zone. Like!

Sex, Love and Goop (2021)

Fabulous, real. This is the second collaboration with Netflix signed by Gwyneth, this time focused on sex. In principle, the documentary helps couples improve the quality of their erotic life. Here we discover pleasant, educated people, financially comfortable but facing a certain level of frustration or intimate dysfunction. The series reminds us that we are all real, natural, that intimacy is essential in our lives and that intimate experiences can be more pleasant than we expect.

Forks over Knives (2011)

What are processed foods? Food, especially processed foods, is at the heart of this documentary in which two food scientists detail their research into rates of obesity, diabetes and other similar conditions. The reality is bleak, unpleasant, but we have so much to learn from it! Let's eat clean, alive, green!

Heal (2017)

What is the connection between stress and health, not just mental but physical? Chronic stress compromises the immune system and, as a result, illness occurs. It is essential to understand the inseparable connection between our mind and our body, to better manage health - says the documentary, through the voices of experts in the medical, psychological, spiritual and homeopathic fields. As within, so without, Ladies!

The Principles of Pleasure

Finally, a series that focuses on female pleasure. Here you will find both anatomical, biological, and emotional and psychological information and approaches. I was delighted by the appearance here of Emily Nagoski, author of the book Come as You Are. If you haven't had a chance to read it yet, I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Cooked

This superb series offers an important lesson in the history of cooking and comes with essential answers about topics that conventional media tends to cover - the truth about gluten, sugar, fats, different types of meat, etc. and explains once and for all why home-cooked food is the healthiest form of nourishment.

The Mind, Explained (2019)

Social discrepancies, identity issues, DNA editing and many other fascinating topics are briefly, concisely, and interactively presented in 15-minute segments. We wish you a pleasant journey into the fascinating world of the human brain and its functions through topics such as memory formation and retention, dreaming, or anxiety. Wow!

Eat, Pray, Love (2010)

We couldn't end this list any other way than with a wonderful movie about the love we like the most, self-love! Probably all of us have already seen it and admired Julia Roberts so many times on her journey to self in this film. Yes, Eat Pray Love is an eternal film about life and the courage to be vulnerable, which Brené Brown talks about in her miracle. We confess that we can't wait to experience the emotion of watching it again!

What do you say, shall we start a marathon?

We embrace you with autumn,
