Spend a MAGICAL winter solstice - purification practices
Today, December 21st, in the midst of the winter solstice, we propose something different to you, the one reading these words now!
Use the magic of this day to connect with yourself, with the strength and divinity within you. Step inside yourself barefoot, with confidence and gentleness. Light up the darkness and make your way to yourself. When you are tired or think you have arrived, try to push further, just a little more, until you penetrate your deepest point. From there, from a bright and intimate corridor of your heart, where no one has ever stepped before, read on.
Connecting to the body means connecting to our feminine energy, creative by definition, raw, pure, ancestral through its roots that dig deep beneath the earth and show you the way to entire generations of women and their collective wisdom. Connecting to the body means connecting to nature and its rhythm
which flows according to its own laws. Oh, let's use the natural magic of this day!
Why is this day magical?
The winter solstice corresponds to the shortest day and the longest night because the sun is at its greatest distance from the celestial equator. Therefore, symbolically, it marks the death and rebirth of the sun. The winter solstice has been celebrated since ancient times through fascinating festivities and rituals
that we discover in the history, culture, and religion of peoples.
In modern rituals, we usually set our intentions, goals, and desires for the new year according to the Gregorian calendar, that is, at the beginning of each calendar year, with January 1st. What we propose, instead, is to start a new year clean inside and out, so that all the seeds we plant then will be in fertile ground.
So, what do we propose today?
We propose that you use the energy of this magical day and its ancestral wisdom and do so directly from within you. From there, from that sacred space, we invite you to do 3 exercises today:
1) De-manifestation. Clearing the mind
Because you are preparing to leave behind a full year, at times abundant, at times difficult. Filter through your inner self the lessons from your experience, from your challenges,
from your discussions, from the people you met, from their stories, from your solitude. Make a list of everything that passes the test of this filter and promise yourself, today, that you will only take with you what serves you, what is good and useful to you. Leave behind forever what no longer serves you, what is toxic, useless, and burdensome.
This is de-manifestation: the process of energetic detox, through which we cleanse ourselves of non-essential surplus, limiting beliefs, unfulfilled desires with painful fangs, to clear and make space for us to grow. The work with ourselves is not easy, not superficial, and never ends, but we encourage you to start and sustain your mental and emotional health and well-being, through small steps and constant rituals.
2) Bath with salt, magnesium, and a few orange slices - body cleansing
You can do the above exercise in an hour-long bath with magnesium, orange slices, perhaps a few rose petals, and lit candles, to help you relax and connect with yourself and your body. We have said so many times that self-care is a language of love, which we encourage you to practice today, on the winter solstice, to give yourself time and space. By the way, time is perhaps the most valuable resource we have because it is the only irreversible resource. Give it to yourself with love!
3) House purification. Environment cleansing.
After completing the above steps and now having a clear understanding of what is essential, good, beautiful, and right in your journey towards a new year, you have given yourself time and cleansed your body, we encourage you to also cleanse your home. Your home is your extension, the walls you have transformed into a nest for yourself and your family. It is essential to clean it constantly, but especially today, when the energy of nature and the cosmos supports you so much.
You can choose from a wide range of smudging rituals – from palo santo, sage, frankincense, to bay leaves. Although bay leaves are more known for their properties in cooking, they work magic in rituals and in the home.

Have you tried lighting a bay leaf? As it burns, imagine that its smoke carries away all your worries and all the negative energy that the bay leaf has extracted from your home and bodies.
There are many rituals around the bay leaf. For example, it can be carried in a wallet to attract abundance, it can be infused or consumed in tea because they have an incredible calming effect, or it can be placed under the pillow for deep sleep and clear dreams.
In closing, we hope that the magic of this day serves you and helps you to find and never (again) lose your way back to yourself! From that bright and intimate corridor of our hearts, we embrace you!
A magical solstice,
The Biotiful Team
